Last weekend was a weekend that we have been anticipating for a long time--the wedding of Rob and Heather (Will and Rob were college roommates and Will was the Best Man.) I have been to Colorado quite a few times, but never in the fall. WOW is all I can say. The aspen trees are bright yellow and make the mountains look like they are on fire. Not to mention that the mornings were near freezing, and by mid-day the temperature was in the 70's.
Even more idyllic was the location of the chapel. Situated high on a mountain, the chapel overlooked a beautiful valley. Heather was a gorgeous bride!! She surprised Rob with a bagpiper who stood on the edge of the mountain and greeted guests as we were shuttled up the one-lane dirt road to the chapel. The ceremony was breathtaking, and my kiddos didn't cause too much of a scene, despite Natalee announcing to everyone in attendance that she tee-teed outside. (Of course nature called AFTER we were shuttled up said mountain!)
The reception was at Heather's parents' home in the mountains. This is what we were treated to on the way from the reception.
After the reception, we got up close and personal with some wildlife:
And, then Natalee insisted on "climbing a mountain." She didn't really catch on that the mountain had a sidewalk, and that she was in her dress and patent leather shoes, but I guess she is still my child! 
So, despite a 30 minute delay on our flight, three different rental cars before we got the right one, two different hotel rooms, and many hours of missed sleep, we had such a wonderful trip and were glad to be a part of such a special day.
